The NPC Reaction Engine

The NPC Reaction Engine is a system-agnostic tool for the moment a player talks to a stranger you hadn't prepped. Roll 2d6 for attitude, d8 for agenda, d10 for secret want — that's your NPC. Three dice, three dimensions, and a reactive character who will answer the door.

The book includes the full dice tables with descriptive results, guidance on reading combinations, and fifty pre-rolled example NPCs so you can deploy one cold when you don't have time to roll. Use it at the table, in prep, or as a seed for longer character work.

It pairs with The Usual Suspects for GMs building roster-heavy settings and with The First Table Toolkit for GMs generating quick bonds and relationships.
